Beginner Garments: Shirt No. 1
Ready to make your first garment? Join Andrea as she walks you through the “Shirt No. 1” pattern from “100 Acts of Sewing”. Shirt No. 1 is a simple, loose-fit top with short sleeves. It’s a versatile piece available in sizes XS through 5X, and makes for a great first garment project!
During this class you will learn how to trace and cut a pattern, finish necklines with bias tape facing and how to use french-seams to keep raw edges hidden and neat.
This class is suitable for beginners, however, you should be familiar with using your machine and sewing straight lines.
Materials needed:
-“100 Acts of Sewing” Shirt No. 1 pattern
- 2 yards woven fabric (recommend a light weight cotton lawn/voile, linen, rayon or natural fiber blend)
- matching thread
- 25 inches of ¾” double-fold bias tape (*will be available at the store)
