Intro to Pattern Drafting: Create a Circle Skirt From Your Own Pattern
Only a few left!
In this class, you will create a pattern for a circle skirt that fits your measurements, then sew that circle skirt. This class is suitable for confident beginner sewists: you should be able to thread your machine, keep a consistent seam allowance, cut out pattern pieces, etc, but you don't need to have sewn clothes or drafted patterns before.
The first class will focus on drafting the pattern. Students will need a pencil, a measuring tape, scissors, and may find a calculator handy (your phone is fine!). Instructor will provide paper for patterns.
The second class will focus on assembling the skirt from your drafted pattern. Students will need scissors, the fabric for their skirt, which should be prewashed; matching thread; a sewing machine; and other relevant notions for finishing their skirt, such as a hook and bar. Notions and fabric yardages may vary by student and will be established during the first class.

Contemplative Creative Community
Sold out
This year-long monthly series of gatherings is for all who crave the consistency of a creative practice in community with other makers. Together we will challenge each other and help each other keep our commitment to a regular creative practice. As we hold ourselves accountable, we will gently hold each other accountable.
In January, we will set our intentions for 2026. Each participant will choose their One Little Word for the year, stamp it on cloth, and stitch intuitively around their OLW.
February will be all about love letters -- self-love, world-love, romantic love, you name it. We will create these love letters in a variety of media.
In March, those who carve linoleum blocks will be invited to share their blocks and we will have a printing-palooza on fabric that will be used for future projects.
Each session will include time for sharing products, processes, successes and setbacks in maintaining a regular creative practice.
Watch for the second quarter sessions as the year progresses.
Full and partial scholarships are available for all Craft Raccoon classes. Email [email protected] to request financial aid.
